Short overview of the fourth module "Re-valuing the existing building stock" of the CAS ETH in Regenerative Materials - Essentials. One of the challenges in today’s building industry is to build less and avoid destroying existing building elements that could be reused on site or by someone else in another project. This module tackled recent initiatives emerging across Switzerland and Europe, with some of the best experts involved in this transition: Corentin Fivet (EPFL/SXL); Claudio Martani (ETHZ / CEA); Blanca Gardelegui (Baubüro in situ & Zirkular); Michael Wick & Elias Knecht (Roto Baumarkt); Oliver Burch (8000.agency); Renaud Haerlingen (rotor & Materiuum); Roger Lienert and Kathrin Sindelar (Kanton Zürich); Brunello Favilla (22.26); Franz Schnyder (Eberhard/EbiMIK); Sasha Cisar (Radicant Bank); Guillaume Habert (ETHZ/SC). The participants also had the opportunity to meet some alumni from last year’s edition of this CAS, who just created a collective to bridge the gap between regenerative architecture and key decision-makers — investors, authorities, and fellow architects: the Re.Act Collective.
