The Mennonite Choral Society presented a shortened version of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3:00 p.m. The program included the first part of Messiah through "Rejoice Greatly." It also included the “Hallelujah" chorus, "The Trumpet Shall Sound," "Worthy Is the Lamb," and the “Amen” chorus. The 150+ voice chorus was accompanied by Dr. Scott Lehman at the organ, Mike Wilson at the piano, Matthew Roth on the cello, Dr. Joshua Ganger on the trumpet, and Ben Amstutz on the timpani. Soloists included Dr. Lisa Dawson (soprano), Dr. Loralee Songer (alto), Daniel Doty (tenor), and Dr. Connor Angel (bass). This marks Brent Hyman’s 42nd time to direct Messiah.
