STORY: As the world's media wait anxiously outside a central London hospital for the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby, Britain's Queen Elizabeth II merely showed a sign of impatience during a visit to England's picturesque Lake District on Wednesday.
The Queen was in Lake Windermere carrying out officials engagements when she was greeted by a group of school children, and one of the girls in the group asked the monarch if she'd prefer William and Kate's newborn to be a boy or a girl.
The Queen laughed before replying: "I don't mind very much, but I'd very much like it to arrive because I'm going on holiday."
The Duchess is reportedly currently staying at her parents secluded house in Bedfordshire outside of London, escaping the media attention and the city heat.
Her exact due date is not known, but it is expected she should give birth by the end of the weekend.
