in 2007 i declared bankrupt and since then have been cleared of this and started to build up a credit history again.
Well recently i have applied to let a house and had my application declined with regards to me reference check.
it turns out i have an CCJ on there that i never knew about.
The letting agent said to go back to the court that i declared bankruptcy with.
They said to do a search online with Trust online... they have all information on CCJs that people have on their file.
This said i had nothing.
The letting agent then said to call the reference agent that they used who could give me more information on the CCJ.
They then gave me all the details and said that they cant process my application any further until this has been removed or they have some letter to say it shouldn't be on there.
I spoke with the Solicitors who were dealing with the debt, They said they had passed it back May 2007 to Nationwide when my bankruptcy was declared. They said they can issue a letter of dissociation if Nationwide instruct them too.
The CCJ is with Nationwide for £310. i tried for 2 hours to try and speak to someone about it. I was even prepared to pay it off so that i can still move into my house!
but im no further.
what on earth do i do now?
ive seen all kinds of information online about this kind of thing.
but it all comes back to needing some kind of proof that the ccj is incorrect. -
