Getting ready is half the fun- and for New Year's Eve in Times Square - getting ready for the big ball drop is an event unto itself.
At the big Times Square Alliance ball drop rehearsal- crowds of reporters got a first hand look at this year's ball- complete with 2688 Waterford crystals.
Tim Tompkins, President of the Times Square Alliance:
SOUNDBITE: TIM TOMPKINS, PRESIDENT OF THE TIMES SQUARE ALLIANCE, (ENGLISH) SAYING:
"This is really just to make sure that everything is working. We did our confetti test yesterday and made sure that the confetti was dropping. So it's all about just getting ready for a big show because when you have a billion people watching you want to make sure you get it right."
