After three years of war and more than 100,000 deaths, Syria's government and representatives from the opposition are set to begin talks.
United Nations mediator Lakhdar Brahimi is overseeing the negotiations in Geneva and will speak to both sides separately first.
It is not clear if both sides will agree to meet for direct talks.
