This flight leaves at the ungodly hour of 1 AM. So after a full day in Hong Kong and several hours at the (very good) lounge you really, really look forward to board this plane and just close your eyes/
Cathay Pacific has several planes to Europe and a bunch to the US departing just after midnight which keeps occupancy levels at the lounge pretty high (though it is not unpleasant).
Boarding and taxiing was uneventful and we took off on time – yeah! It's always interesting to see how different those flight times are in trans-pacific flights – the outbound was 15 hours and the inbound is just 11 hours – makes sense with 100-120mph wind in your face or not.
