Oh beloved,
have you washed yourself of me?
And if so, how then to know
if these longings must abide in dream only?
This external world,
fleshy mountains of waste
Could never know the glimmering caverns
of beauty sublime
Of two souls who, for a time
were mirrors-
The fascination of a child
looking into a pool at the ocean's tides
Of pure feeling- this is gone.
With your seeming light withdrawn,
I shall keep mine aglow
for ever
against my ardent heart's window.
