Cantor Benny Rogosnitzky with Cantor Chaim Adler of the Great Synagogue of Jerusalem singing together ""Hamavdil,"" composed by the great King of Cantors, Yossele Rosenblatt at the Riverdale Jewish Center.
Traditionally sung on Saturday evenings, it is a mixture of Psalms, as well as Kabbalistic writings, and speaks of the separation between holiness and impurity; between good and bad; and between Shabbat and the work week. In true Rosenblatt style, it encompasses both a beautiful upbeat melody with a soulful, stirring motif.
