Surprise Me!

Lucinda Myer - Dreams

Night hovers over me as dark invades the safeness of my room.
I feel alone, yet not lonely, still I seek the solace of the moon.

Snow falls silently as I gaze through frosted window panes.
Night hovers even closer now, as sleep I seek in vain.

It's then I feel your presence 'round me as thoughts of the day go by.
You tenderly move in closer as moonlight slips across my eyes.

I know you're here, moonlight brought you, even though you're far away.
''I know you're here, ' I whisper. ' Did moonlight bring you here to stay? ' '

I wait for sleep, silence grows, still I feel your presence near.
It's then I hear your tender voice speaking gently in my ear.

'It's not the solace of the moon you seek, it's the solace of my heart'.
You take my face in your warm, smooth hands and vow we'll never part.

I dream the moonlight caresses us, as we lie with hearts entwined.
I hear you softly say to me, 'You always will be mine.'

Then starlight shines upon us, our hearts and souls rejoice.
Is this a dream I'm dreaming? I listen closely for your voice.

I fall to sleep, sleep deeper still, and then I hear you say,
'You've touched my soul, sweet dreams to you.'
I feel you slip away.

The sun is slowly rising as sleepily I raise my head.
And as I peek through frosted windows of the night before,
I think of all the things I should have, could have said.

It's then I hear you say to me,
'It's cold out there, come snuggle in our bed with me.'

Moonlight laughs.
Star giggles with delight.
Sun gives a winking know.
It's strange the dreams we dream when we know we're not alone.
