All animals had been assembled early,
the Lion-king had authorised cease-hunting.
All minds were needed to find answers to the question
how could the spots on all the Leopards be deleted.
Or, only changed and re-arranged into a pattern
that would allow the Leopard to conceal himself
mix in with antelopes and chubby little Rhinos
sit in the nests of jungle birds next to warm eggs.
For one whole week they tried, the best minds of the jungle
had put their brilliance into action on that skin
it was decided by the king it would be futile
and he was just about to call the meeting over,
when a hyena spoke, his eyes downcast for shade,
he said that turning those black spots away from vision
by termination of the Leopard's useless life
the spots could then be changed by turning his dead skin
just inside out and troubles would be over.
All the assembled ones had been without their kills
for seven days, and gnawing hunger reared its fangs
they killed the leopard for his spots that very minute
and praised Hyena for his skills and brilliant mind.
