How funny,
The public
Slaves to each new fad.
Making money,
Companies reap the
Harvest of the land
In America.
How sad,
Seeing just what
Is ruling our lives.
How mad
It is, how many
Simply follow the tides
Of popularity
In America.
How weird,
Music was once
An expression of self.
Now, all you hear
Is about violence,
Drugs, sex, and wealth.
How lovely, America.
Big companies,
Cosmetic appearance,
And socialism,
Controlling our minds.
Advertising,
Popular trends
And fixation on shallow beauty
Blinding our eyes
To what really matters
Here, in America.
