Surprise Me!

Deb Fowler - Reflections

The sky was the softest blue
scattered clouds painted on a canvas
stretched out before me

Michelins slapped time with
the black asphalt highway
as I drove the familiar two lane

an invisible wind danced
a slow waltz with fall as crisp
leaves swayed in crimson and gold

an old sand road, well worn with
previous visitors carried me to
where we left you not long ago

reflections in the depth of the
black granite echo my tears
as I finally say Good bye.
