In moments of great solitude I remember him
From that world where almost everyone was at their very best
Generosity - yes - and talent too
You could taste the salt spray from his oils
His name and life ache in a heart where age has come and
At last I better understand what it means to be an artist
In a world where so many do not paint with oils.
