I ran into you
without warning
or notion or care
we slept away the nights
underneath full moons
on the edge of our prime
fresh faces with dreams
and thriving life
we fervently fucked
we tasted nobody
else but us
inside a luminous smile
as perfect as a
blue diamond’s shine
like a western sinking sun
welcoming day into night
the gods smiled
so we gave them some more
until we became one
reaching a sanctuary of
blessed elation like
those years before us
with ones we once loved
while Sinatra’s voice draped
a time long ago savored
still always remembered
our fade away lives
of being young lovers
