The sun shines from above
As the wind teases the leaves
Urging them to dance.
As they gently sway
A Rosella returns to its nest
The flowers that had lain dormant
Now awaken, reaching upwards
Drawing strength from the sun
Its buds open unfurling
To become the a perfect bloom
There is a feeling in the air
Of anticipation, exhilaration.
Smiles on the faces of strangers
The days are longer
And the evenings more inviting.
Walking through the park
A blaze of colour captures the eyes.
Such tranquility in their beauty.
The scent of the rose is released to the air
There to linger invitingly.
A heart that was once shadowed.
Now touched by the warmth of the sun
Finds joy in the picture before it.
Opens up to a new beginning.
This is the onset of spring.
