Intense battles continue to rage in Kobani, Syria at the Turkish border. Until now, the only official 'assistance' Turkey has provided to people being decimated at the town along its border is to permit the US-led coalition to use its airbases, and it also allowed a few Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga fighters to pass through its territory to aid embattled fellow Kurds in Kobani. Over the weekend, Turkish forces bombed Kobani, injuring civilians and local Kurdish fighters defending their city. Turkey has been accused of financing the Islamic State, but denies the allegations. teleSUR
