A young pediatric resident who vanished for a week was found inside a Walmart in a small town in Texas on Sunday.
Dr. Fehintola Omidele, 25, was last seen eating dinner with her family on the night of November 30th.
The intern doctor never made it to work the next day at the Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston’s Medical Center.
Her father, Sehjuh Omidele was informed by her colleagues that his responsible daughter did not come into work, so he went searching for her.
After going to her apartment and discovering that she had left behind her pager and cell phone, he immediately contact authorities.
Texas EquuSearch, a nonprofit search and rescue organization formed a massive search party for the up-and-coming doctor.
Dr. Omidele showed up at a Walmart in El Campo, Texas after a week, where she asked an employee to make a phone call.
When the Walmart employee recognized her as missing, she asked the intern where she had gone.
Dr. Omidele told the employee she was just driving around. According to a New York Post report, however, pressure from her residency program got to her.
Police are still investigating why exactly Dr. Omidele vanished for a week without telling anyone about her whereabouts.
Dr. Omidele may have to undergo a mental health evaluation.
