The wait is finally over. The trailer of Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do is unveiled and boy oh boy it has made our hearts skip a beat. True to the movie’s theme of being a dysfunctional family the Mehra clan are a bunch of upper crust socialites who want their son to be married off and daughter to give her marriage another shot. Anil Kapoor plays Kamal Mehra the Mehra patriarch and his wife is played by Shefali Shah. He seems to be controlling and runs the family with an iron hand. Priyanka Chopra plays Ayesha Mehra, a suave and sophisticated businesswoman who’s marriage to Rahul Bose has hit a dead-end and wants a way out. She bumps into former flame Sunny Gill aka Farhan Akhtar and it seems they still harbour feelings towards each other. The only glitch in the film is the fact that we have to see Ranveer and Piggy Chops play siblings, who have otherwise played lovers in the film Gunday. This brings us to the storyline of Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. Ranveer, wants to break the shackles of his family, turn down the arrange marriage proposal and become a pilot. He meets the feisty Farah Ali played by Anushka Sharma and they hit it off instantly. The chemistry between Ranveer and Anushka will set the screens scorching, while Pee Cee and Farhan’s romantic moments have us reaching for the tissues. How they all entangle themselves from the hilarious yet serious situations will be unveiled on 5th June as the Mehra family embark on a family cruise in the Mediterranean. Also starring are Zarina Wahab, Vikrant Massey and Ridhima Sud.
