A passenger on Air Canada's flight recorded fuel spewing from the wing before the flight had to land an emergency.
"A few minutes after taking off, we know something is wrong," said Josh Jacobs, a retired English professor in Boston, USA. "But the captain reacted quickly and informed us, avoiding panic."
Jacobs was among 213 passengers on Air Canada's AC017 flight from Montreal, Canada to Shanghai, China on March 25, according to CBS.
A spokeswoman for Air Canada said the warning light had glowed in the Boeing 787 cockpit. The crew had followed the processing sequence, shutting off the engine, discharged fuel and contacted the ground rescue team to turn down. Emergency wing
Jacobs filmed the flow of fuel from the wing to the air. He shared the scene on Twitter, hailing the airline as a "professional response."
"It's nice to be back at MTL airport with Air Canada AC17 because of a malfunction of the engine when it takes off, the engine is off, the fuel is sprayed out: professional response," he wrote.
