Paul Pogba returned to action sooner than expected last night; the French international had missed the past fortnight with a hamstring injury, which ruled him out of France’s international games over the break.
He sprung from the bench during Man United’s draw with Everton last night, and although his impact and contribution was minimal, United fans will have been happy to have him back – especially if it means Marouane Fellaini will return to the bench.
Hit in the groin
But his return to action could have been hampered and even delay in the most comical of circumstances, after an unfortunate incident in the warm-up.
As he was warming up on the Old Trafford turf and kicking the ball about, Pogba took a rogue ball to the groin, and went down in temporary manly agony.
It was scene reminiscent of Hans Moleman taking an American football to the groin in a classic episode of the Simpsons, and thankfully Pogba escaped any injury and will be able to reproduce in the future.
