Torrential rain has triggered damaging floods in areas of southwest China's Chongqing Municipality and Guizhou Province. The flood peak of the Qihe River running through the Qijiang District of Chongqing swelled to its highest post-1998 level on Tuesday to register at 224.7 meters, or 4.2 meters above the warning level.
