The current record is 123 days, and Mark aims to take 43 days from the record, that is almost 35% off of the record!
There is a support crew that follows Mark for the complete journey, including a mechanic and nutritionist to ensure that Mark is taken care of.
Mark will usually have 3 short breaks per day where he can have a quick refuel and get back on the bike again, to continue riding 16hours per day. Yep, 16hrs!
Simon logged 211km before a quick stop for lunch, probably the farthest he's done before lunch!
After 320km, you can really see that the duration is setting in on Simon, I don't blame him. It's a long time in the saddle, and psychologically it's a huge thing. Chapeau Simon. Mark has to do this 79 days more...
