గోదారమ్మ పుట్టుకకు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ కు సంబంధం ఏమిటి..??

ప్రస్తుతం దేశ వ్యాప్తంగా వర్షాలు బాగా పడుతున్నాయి. దీంతో నదీ జలాలలన్నీ పరవళ్లు తొక్కుతూ ప్రవహిస్తున్నాయి. ఇందుకు దక్షిణ భారత దేశంలోని రాష్ట్రాలు కూడా అతీతం కాదు. ముఖ్యంగా దక్షిణ భారత దేశంలోని రాష్ట్రాలను సస్యస్యామలం చేసే నదుల్లో గోదావరి కూడా ముందు వరుసలో ఉంటుంది. మహారాష్ట్రలోని త్రయంబకేశ్వరంలో గోదావరి జన్మస్థలం అన్న విషయం తెలిసిందే. అయితే గోదావరి పుట్టుకకు కారణం మన తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఒకటైన ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ లోని కొవ్వూరు కారణమని తెలుసా.

In this account, the sage Gautama, who is a mind-born son of Brahma, is engaged in Tapasya (deep meditation) on the Brahmagiri mountain when there is a hundred-year drought in the area and thus crops can't grow. So for the welfare of others, he starts engaging in Tapasya to Varuna the ocean god, who appears before him after six months.
