Discount dollar stores are edging up in the retail market. Dollar-store sales in the United States grew from $30.4 billion in 2010 to $45.3 billion in 2015. Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar stores have all announced plans to open hundreds of new stores this year. While not a traditional dollar store, "Five Below" has entered the market and announced its own growth plans. The store where all items are priced $5 or less has seen sales increase at its 625 stores by 2.7% this year.
