Major relief on the cards for Mumbaikars from traffic woes, with the trial run of the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopa elevated Metro corridor being held today. The 11.4 Km elevated tracks will connect the western suburb of Versova to the Eastern suburb of Ghatkopar through Andheri, There will be 12 stations on the route. The route, which takes nearly one and a half hour by road, will be covered in just 21 minutes. The inaugural run was flagged -off by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and is expected to be open to public in Oct 2013.
