The Viltrox 85mm f1.8 is an all new ultra fast, ultra bright entry level prime lens for Sony full-frame e-mount cameras.
Although it's currently one of the least expensive lenses you can buy for Sony FE, this lens doesn't seem to lack anything when it comes to build quality, featuring a rugged all metal body and smooth, premium feeling focus ring.
While lacking autofocus, this lens is semi automated since it features both an electronic iris, that's controlled by the camera body and the ability to transmit EXIF data digitally via contacts on the mount.
This lens is also no slouch when it comes to image quality. I spent a week out in the field shooting it on my A7r3 and was genuinely impressed by its thin depth of focus, natural color rendering, and overall sharpness.
This might just be the most compelling full frame e-mount lens out there right now for under $300 and if you're ok going without autofocus, I'd definitely recommend checking it out.
