Although she didn't know it at the time, Manjula Reddy Nookala’s passion for education began at the young age of twelve when she “convinced” some of the neighborhood students to attend tutoring with her. However, Manjula didn’t originally consider a career in education. As an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Arlington, she studied to become an engineer, earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, and Mathematics with a minor in Physics. She fell into teaching almost on a dare. Over eighteen years later, she hasn’t looked back since.
After deciding that she wanted to follow her passion for teaching, Manjula Reddy Nookala wanted to continue her own education, earning two more Master's Degrees. She earned her Master of Education degree from Grand Canyon University in 2007, followed by her Master of Science in Mathematics Education from Drexel University in 2011.
Manjula’s skills include lesson planning, educational technology, tutoring, curriculum development, and public speaking. She is also an excellent communicator who’s able to speak English, Spanish, Hindi, and Telugu. Throughout the years, she has been a teacher, an adjunct professor, an athletic director, a curriculum coordinator, and a mathematics instructional specialist, among other jobs. These positions all led her to her current role as an assistant principal.
Manjula has dedicated her career to improving education for her students. She has a history of creating a curriculum and learning environment that prepares her students for success both in and outside of the classroom. Her personal motto was originally said by Plato, an ancient Greek philosopher. It goes, “Without a contradictory impression, there is nothing to awaken reflection.” This is a quote she lives by, and a lesson she tries to instill in her students daily.
Manjula Reddy Nookala is thrilled that her teaching career has taken her all over the country, from Pennsylvania to Texas to Arizona. Although she has enjoyed teaching college and high school students, she is excited to grow with the Arcadia High School Community where she currently serves as Assistant Principal. She hopes her 10+ years of leadership experience and 15+ years of experience of teaching experience will allow her to help strengthen the community for students, educators, and staff.
