Post 9/11 Wars Have Cost
the US $6.4 Trillion.
A new report says U.S. taxpayers have paid this amount for military presence around Asia and the Middle East.
The study comes from
Brown University's Watson Institute
of International and Public Affairs.
The $6.4 trillion is more than what the
U.S. federal government spent
during the last fiscal year.
By the time the fiscal year wrapped up at the end of September, the Treasury Department says $4.4 trillion
was used up.
The study's author, Neta Crawford,
says that 80 countries are involved
in wars that started after 9/11.
In terms of causalities, the report adds that the conflicts have resulted
in just over 800,000 deaths.
The wars have also led to
the displacement of over
21 million people worldwide
