The last date of Krishna Paksha in Hindu Panchang is known as Amavasya. The of this date is believed to be Pitrudev. On this date, the Sun and the Moon are located in equal degrees and in the same zodiac. There is a religious belief that in Krishna the demons and Shukla Paksha are active deities. Fathers are pleased on Amavasya Tithi.
