Covid-19 infections have witnessed a surge in rural areas amid the second wave of the pandemic. Around 2,000 villagers have tested positive in total of 27 villages in Barmer district.
“It's true that there’s more infection in rural areas, nearly 70% positive cases are from villages. Medical teams are identifying positive cases, collecting samples and home isolating them,” said BL Vishnoi, CMHO Barmer.
