The Ling Temco Vought A-7D Corsair II is a single-engine, subsonic attack aircraft that was used by the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1993. It was designed as a replacement for the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk and was based on the Vought F-8 Crusader. The A-7D had a shorter and broader fuselage, a larger wing, and a more powerful turbofan engine. The A-7D could carry a variety of weapons, including bombs, rockets, missiles, and guns. It was also equipped with a head-up display, an inertial navigation system, and a digital computer. The A-7D was deployed in the Vietnam War, the Cambodian Civil War, the Iran–Iraq War, and the Gulf War.
