Comelec, TikTok sign agreement to educate voters, fight misinformation
Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia and TikTok Public Policy Manager Peachy Paderna sign a memorandum of agreement in Taguig City on Jan. 28, 2025 that will allow TikTok to host a 'Philippine Elections Center' to boost voter education and fight misinformation. Speaking to The Manila Times, Paderna and Comelec spokesman John Rex Laudiangco cited the importance of the MOA to 49 million TikTok users. Videos show the TikTok elections hub and the #ThinkTwice campaign of the social media app.
