Welcome to the golden age of animation! In this newly restored 4K remaster, we present I Wanna Be a Sailor, a Warner Bros. Merrie Melodies cartoon originally released on September 25, 1937, directed by the legendary Tex Avery.
Plot Summary
Peter, a rebellious young parrot, dreams of becoming a sailor like his father. While his mother tries to teach him to say Polly want a cracker?, Peter only thinks about setting sail for adventure! Defying his mother’s warnings, he builds his own makeshift ship with the help of a talkative duck (who he quickly silences with a clothespin). But their voyage doesn’t go as planned. After a fierce storm and a near-disaster, Peter is rescued… yet he still insists on following his dream of becoming a sailor.
