A new Taiwan-Philippines-U.S. trans-pacific submarine cable system has arrived at its Taiwanese landing point in Taitung. The cable is set to come online in May. Taiwan relies on submarine cables for almost all its internet connectivity, and has experienced coms blackouts in the past due to the cables being damaged by China-linked ships.
