Meanwhile, human rights organisations denounced that more than 500 prisoners escaped from prisons on 31 March after members of the VIVRE ensemble armed coalition broke into police and prison centres in the commune of Mirebalais. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said in a report that more than 4,200 people had been killed and more than 1,000 injured in Haiti over the past nine months.
