Rampur, 17 April 2025– A horrific case of sexual violence has shaken Rampur district after a 10-year-old mentally challenged Dalit girl was subjected to extreme brutality. The minor, who went missing since Tuesday evening (15 April 2025), was discovered nude in a field the next morning (16 April 2025) lying unconscious with severe injuries, including bite marks covering her body and bleeding from her private parts. She is currently undergoing medical treatment.
Authorities launched an immediate investigation, leading to the arrest of the prime suspect, Dan Singh. CCTV footage confirmed Singh's involvement, showing him taking the girl away. Medical reports revealed the victim sustained at least 17 injury marks. During the arrest operation, Singh was shot in the leg in a police encounter. He is now in custody as legal proceedings begin. The case has sparked outrage, with demands for swift justice. Further investigations are underway.
