Arun Gupta, a resident of 15/330 Champapurva, Shuklaganj (near Sarvodaya Vidya Mandir School), has accused his wife Meenu and her family of repeated harassment and attempts to forcibly grab his property. Gupta, who is suffering from liver cirrhosis, alleged that he is often physically assaulted and mentally tortured, and that his in-laws are pressuring him to take his own life.
According to Arun, his wife and her relatives are also threatening him with false police cases to break his spirit and forcefully seize his assets. He claims that no one is coming forward to help him despite his deteriorating condition and repeated appeals.
Taking note of the serious allegations, the Unnao Police has responded, saying that the In-charge Inspector of Gangaghat has been directed to look into the matter and take appropriate action. The case highlights potential misuse of legal provisions and raises concerns over the safety and mental health of vulnerable individuals.
Authorities are urged to investigate the claims thoroughly and ensure that justice is delivered.
