Taiwanese lawmakers said that Taiwan is in the first batch of countries to negotiate with the U.S. over President Donald Trump's so-called "reciprocal" tariffs. Taiwan hopes to be relieved of the 32% tariffs on goods, excluding semiconductors. South Korea, Japan and Vietnam are also in the first batch.
