Gurdaspur (Punjab), May 10, 2025 (ANI): Punjab’s police official informed about a blast near Gurdaspur district, in the early hours on May 10, after heavy shelling by Pakistan. “It happened around 4.45 am. No loss has occurred. All officers, including those of the Army, have come here. I appeal to the people not to come and gather here. A blast had happened, we heard a sound", Inspector Jasvinde Pal Singh said in a statement. The Government of India and the Punjab Government have issued directives under the Civil Defence Act, 1968, to enforce a complete blackout in the Gurdaspur district from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, effective from May 8, 2025, until further orders. The measure is in response to a sensitive environment along the Indo-Pakistan border and aims to address any potential emergency situation.
