Bengaluru, May 14, 2025 (ANI): Speaking on Disha Committee Meeting, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on May 14 said that he had reviewed 67 centrally sponsored schemes. He also said that they can used the funds in this year if central government released it in March. “Under my leadership, the Disha Committee meeting was held today. The committee has been formed to review centrally sponsored schemes, and I am the chairman of that committee. There are 67 centrally sponsored schemes, and I have reviewed them. For these programs, both the central and state governments bear the expenses. Both governments allocate funds, and based on the specific schemes, the amounts are decided...Officials say that since funds from the central government come at the last moment, they are unable to spend them effectively...If funds are received in March, they won’t lapse — they can be used in the following year...I have told all the concerned members to put pressure on the central government through letters...I also met with PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and handed over letters...The central government must release the funds it has agreed upon. If it doesn’t, we will continue to put pressure,” said Siddaramaiah.
