In 2040, DJ Sebastian, was chosen for a mission to contact civilizations on K2-18b. Earth opted for music as a universal language, and Sebastian’s gift for crafting evocative melodies made him ideal to encode humanity’s story within them.
Mission: Space disco
Aboard the Aurora, fitted with a powerful transmitter and synthesizer, Sebastian blended earthly sounds—ocean waves, birdsong—with tones designed for alien perception. His tracks embedded mathematical sequences, DNA structures, and cultural fragments, merging art with interstellar communication.
Challenges and Connection
The mission’s isolation and uncertainty weighed heavily. Doubting whether his music would be understood, Sebastian found comfort in classic vinyls. While broadcasting Space disco, he detected a harmonic signal from K2-18b, echoing his own motifs. This sparked a musical exchange with the Melodions, a civilization responding with songs like Earth’s Anthem, woven with Amazonian imagery. Yet, some Melodion signals held cryptic patterns, hinting at deeper motives.
Finale
As Aurora’s resources dwindled, Sebastian composed Cantata of Unity, fusing Earth and Melodion themes with a message: “We are here, seeking friendship.” After transmission, he saw stars pulsing in rhythm—or was it an illusion? His music became a legend, inspiring Earth, and still echoes among the stars, telling of a DJ who bridged the cosmos with sound.
