Lucknow: A shocking incident has surfaced from the city, where Simran Gupta, popularly known as ‘Model Chai Wali’, was allegedly assaulted and misbehaved with by police officers at midnight. The incident, caught on video, has gone viral and sparked widespread outrage.
Around 12 AM on Sunday, police from Madiyanv station reportedly reached Simran’s tea stall and began harassing her for keeping it open late. Simran claims she was abused, manhandled, and even had her clothes pulled by a woman constable. In the viral video, a female cop is seen dragging Simran as she screams in protest.
Simran has accused the police of demanding illegal money, saying the assault began when she refused to pay. Meanwhile, police claim action was taken for operating beyond allowed hours.
Simran, a former model and ‘Miss Gorakhpur’ titleholder, had turned to selling tea after her father fell ill. She now supports her family through her earnings.
