Meerut: Moni, who had left her family in Muzaffarnagar and was living on the streets of Meerut with her 6-year-old daughter, was brutally murdered by her live-in partner Kartar, a rickshaw driver.
Police said Kartar, who lived with Moni for the past 4 months, suspected her of associating with a woman involved in prostitution. On June 12, he took Moni to a deserted building in the Cantt area, where he had sex with her and then crushed her to death with bricks.
After the murder, Kartar left Moni’s daughter at his rickshaw owner’s house and fled. He has since been arrested by the police.
