Description: Bhubaneswar (Odisha), June 18, 2025 (ANI): BJD leader Lekhasri Samantsinghar on June 18 slammed Odisha government over Gopalpur gangrape case and asked question that why state government is silent. She also said that government should adopt an SOP of zero tolerance against crimes against women. “An unfortunate and serious incident has occurred in Odisha. Such incidents have risen in the state since the BJP came to power. In last one year, incidents of rape have increased by 8% in Odisha. This state government is not doing anything for the safety of women in the state. The state government is only talking about its achievements, but no work is being done on the ground. Why is the government silent? Instead, they are celebrating one year of government. As the Women and Child Development Minister is not able to stop crimes against women, taking moral responsibility, he should resign. The government should adopt an SOP of zero tolerance against crimes against women,” said Lekhasri Samantsinghar.
