A 1.2 meter bear entered the runway of Yamagata Airport on Thursday (June 26), forcing a temporal shutdown of the runway and flight cancellations, according to Japanese broadcaster Nippon TV.
Bear sightings had been reported in the area since the evening of June 25.
Officials believe the one that showed up in the airport is the same one.
