Zoids Saga DS: Legend of Arcadia is the conclusion of the Zoids Saga series. It comprises scenes from Zoids Saga, Zoids Saga II (released in the west as Zoids: Legacy) and Zoids Saga III: Fuzors. It features upgraded graphics and sound. Additionally, Zoids and story elements from the Zoids Genesis anime have been included.
The game plays like a traditional JRPG with the player controlling characters and mechs from the Zoids titles. Enemy Zoids wander around the overworld and chase you on sight, which takes the player into the turn-based combat system. An English patch for the game done by Traceeytrace in 2022.
The gameplay is the same as Zoids Saga except that Takara Tomy used the DS split screen feature to introduce the radar system. Regina gave him a peculiar device which he wore on his left arm called Arm Retcomm, a radar watch device with map, item locator, trap, and Zoids mining system. Right now, you only have level 1 of these systems, but you will get more upgrade for the device starting from midgame.
Atory and his bodyguards, the 3 Beast Warriors arrived in a different timeline. Regina said that she has never seen the place before. The environment seems different in here and Jack said that he sees a city nearby, urging the Prince to visit it which he obliged. Welcome to Blue City! Here, everyone who pilots Zoid called Zi Fighter and unlike another timeline, Fighters took a bounty hunting quest or Zoids battle for a living. Considering Atory and his bodyguards came from different timeline, the townspeople said that their fashion looks funny. Entering the bar, the barkeeper told Atory that he should head to Mach Storm if he needs anything. Atory asked about it and the barkeeper said that the Mach Storm is considered as jack of all trades around Blue City. "You will know it when you see a big clock tower," the barkeeper said. At the same time, some people said that Zoid attack had been happening lately, and the culprit seems to pilot a Gojulas which catch Jack's attention. Everyone enters the big clock tower, and hilarity ensues as Ace is being awkward here with the sudden threat much to Regina's embarrassment.
Hop asked who they are and Jack said that they believe that the people they are currently chasing had something to do with the recent Zoids attack. Hop sadly had no concrete information at the time and as the party about to leave after they realized that they came up empty, Hop stopped them and asked if the situation is really that serious. Jack answered Hop that he had assumption that a particular army is involved which Hop consider it bad news if that's the case. He then asked the party where the army came from, and Ace answered that it is a mystery. "A mystery...hmm...if it's true...it would be best to solve this mystery before it gets further out of hand," Hop said.
Hop then called every member of Mach Storm to gather around and talk about this mystery.
