What adolescents need to stay healthy, says expert
Dr. Marissa Alejandria, the incoming executive director of the University of the Philippines (UP) - NIH during a forum on July 2, 2025, says adolescents need 'information, including age-appropriate, comprehensive sexuality education, opportunities to develop life skills, and access to health services that are acceptable, appropriate, effective, and safe,' to 'grow and develop in good health.' The forum on Enhancing Community HPV Immunization for Filipino Adolescents through Health Policy and Systems Research seeks to promote healthy behaviors and improve access to preventive services, particularly the HPV vaccine, which protects against cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases.
