LA ready to fight Trump immigration lawsuit, mayor says
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said on Tuesday, July 1, the city would not be intimidated by President Donald Trump's administration's lawsuit over policies limiting city cooperation with federal immigration authorities
"This is essentially an all-out assault against Los Angeles. The lawsuit is an attempt to overturn the will of the city, calling for a halt to longstanding policy to protect immigrant Angelenos," Bass told a news conference at City Hall.
"We will not be intimidated by these tactics," she said. "I will always protect Angelenos against the unwarranted and cruel actions of this administration."
The lawsuit continued a confrontation over the Republican's deportation efforts in a largely Democratic city.
