Facility will have an annual capacity of 70 million rounds and strengthens military ties between Moscow and Caracas
The Russian state corporation Rostec, through its subsidiary Rosoboronexport, has completed the first phase of construction of a 7.62 mm ammunition factory for Kalashnikov rifles in Venezuela. The new facility marks a deepening of military cooperation between the two countries, which has intensified in recent years.
According to Rosoboronexport, the factory will have the capacity to produce up to 70 million rounds per year, significantly boosting the South American nation's defence capability. Each production line has been designed to manufacture tens of thousands of cartridges per shift, and initial tests have confirmed the quality and compliance of the ammunition with declared technical specifications.
